We are fully experienced in installing Satellite Broadband Internet equipment
and we can supply and install the system for you.

ASTRA2Connect is the latest 2-way satellite internet service from BeyonDSL.
Developed by Astra and Newtec, the service at last makes 2–way satellite internet affordable as well as accessible.

How does it work?

The Astra 1E satellite is located at 23.5E. The hub is at Astra’s HQ in Luxembourg where it is connected to the internet backbone and from where it transmits to the satellite.

Your ASTRA2Connect dish plus iLNB is the link between the satellite and the satmodem connected to your computer.

The system comes complete with everything you need to get connected:

* 79cm Dish with unique fine-adjust Az/El mount
* Interactive LNB - “iLNB” - to send and receive

* Unique “Point & Play” audio alignment meter
* 30m Twin Digital Coax Cable

What must I pay for?

There’s a one-off Connection Charge when we first set you up on the system. Then you need to buy the system which comes complete in one transport carton. Question Can I connect more than 1 PC?
Answer Y
es A router is required which can be either wired or wireless. it should have Ethernet ports and most DSL/Cable routers have this. The WAN port connects to the Astra2Modem and receives IP address automatically. LAN port is for connecting PCs or use wireless (diasbled on router by default). Please refer to router manual. We have successfully tested Belkin, D-link, Netgear, Cisco amongst other brands.

Question Can I get Sky or Freesat from the same dish?
Answer
Yes. The dish can be fitted with a second LNB to feed a Sky or Freesat receiver. Our Quad LNB contains a filter to avoid interference from the transmitter in the iLNB and provides up to 4 feeds for your digital satellite TV system

Question Can I use it with my Mac / Linux computer?
Answer
Yes – any computer which has an Ethernet connection.

Question Can I use VoIP?
Answer
Not yet. It is planned for 2009 as an extra cost option.

Question Do I need any software on my computer?
Answer
You need an internet browser, thats all.

Question Do I need planning permission?
Answer
Not normally. A 79 cm dish is within the usual permissions. For more detailed information you should visit the government's Planning Portal http://www.planningportal.gov.uk/uploads/ant/antenna_guide.html.

Question How do I order?
Answer
Please place your order by emailing us here. Once we have received you remail we will contact you to make further arrangements. If you have ordered an installation, you will be contacted for a convenient date.

Question I cannot connect to main modem page via web browser. What do i need to do?
Answer
One of the messages that appear is that you are working offline. (check one or more options below)

1. Please disable dialup. If you were using dial-up connection before open Internet Explorer and uder Tools >Internet options >choose connections tab. Choose "Never dial a connection" and Apply changes.

2. Under File menu left unclick "Work offline"

3. Ensure that your PC is obtaining IP address automatically. this can be checked in the control panel > network connections >right-click Local Area Network > highlight TCP/Ip > right-click TCP/Ip and choose properties.

Question I have an ADSL Modem. Will it work if I use this one?
Answer
No. First the ADSL connection is not an Ethernet port. Also ADSL modems cannot perform routing between WAN interface and LAN interface.Wireless Access Points also cannot work on their own and need a router connected to the Astra Modem.

Question What Wired or Wireless Router can I use?
Answer
In order to connect more than one computer you will need a router (wired or wireless) with an Ethernet port. The Wide Area Network WAN port connects to the Astra2 modem and the Local Area Network Port connect connects to your network. Some ports have between 4 to 8 LAN ports. A switch can then be added to the LAN port for additional PC connections.

Both the WAN and LAN ports should obtain IP address automatically from the router. Wireless is by default disabled and needs to be activated. Refer to router manual for instructions of setting up a secure wireless network. Do NOT leave it open to abuse.

An ADSL or Access Point will not work as they are not desined to perform routing

Question Is there a commitment?
Answer
Yes. The subscription contract is for one year whether you pay annually or choose the monthly payment scheme.
If you stop the service for any reason, the balance of your annual contract remains payable.

Question What about TV from Astra 1 at 19°East or SKY at 28.2°East?
Answer
The dual clamp can be fitted to receive either Astra 1 at 19°East or Astra 2 at 28.2°East but not both. Your choice is either 19°E (European TV) + 23.5°E (internet) or 28.2°E (UK TV) + 23.5°E (internet).

Question What mount do I need?
Answer
The Az/El mount fits any standard pole from 40 - 70mm. As long as it is secure and vertical, you can use a wall mount, pole mount or patio mount

Question What’s included in a standard installation?
Answer
A standard installation is no more than 30m cable run from the dish to the satmodem (or TV receiver), on a south-facing wall with no special access requirements – typically no higher than the first storey. If your install is non-standard, the installer should tell you on arrival on site and clear any extra costs with you directly before proceeding.

Question What is the size of the dish?
Answer
Beyondsl uses a special 79cm dish.

Question Where do I get technical support after the installation has taken place?
Answer
All technical support is directly with beyondsl.

Question Is 'CDI Audio Visual Ltd' the company that operates the service?
Answer
