'LoftBox' InHome Distribution
No need for extra cables. Combines signals down existing cable. __________________________ Available in 4 way or 8 way (4 or 8 extra TV's) |
|
Typical Loftbox Installation
The Global 'LoftBox' is an integrated INHome Distribution system. It is normally situated in the Loft and combines TV, FM, DAB, CCTV & Satellite TV all onto one cable. At the end of the cable a Triplexing wallplate or a Multi service plate will need to be fitted to separate the signals at the main living room. For all other rooms a std coax wall plate or TV / FM wall plate can be used.
The cable from the satellite dish / TV aerial etc is fed directly into the loftbox and avoids the need for untidy external cabling.
Most new houses have 2 cables fitted from the loft down to the main living room, it is usually terminated into a face plate marked TV & Sat. The face plate can be replaced with a Triplex or Multi service plate which includes a return port, one of these cables can be used for the incoming signals and the other for the Sky return feed to the other rooms.
If you are using a Sky Plus receiver this requires an additional lead from the loft to the faceplate, the same loft box can be used as the cable will be connected direct from the dish to face plate. NB: When ordering the Multiservice face plate, you will need to order the plate with the additional satellite input.
The 'LoftBox' then takes a return feed from the living room which would typically be from the UHF2 output from the Sky digibox or from a "Y" splitter.
FM & DAB are
diplexed onto the return feed & then distributed to additional points
within the house via Global TV/FM diplex wallplates. Each outlet point
is able to receive normal terrestrial TV, FM, DAB, CCTV & the selected
Satellite channel. The 'LoftBox' fully supports the Infrared control
signals from the tvLINK Remote Eye back to the Sky digibox.
TV / FM Wall Plate (Fully Screened)

TV / FM face plates for terrestrial TV & FM / DAB (Digital audio
broadcasting), these new type of wall plate are becoming the standard
in preparation for digital terrestrial.
Note the fully screened metal block at the rear of the wall plate, this
is intended to minimise the risk of interference or noise which is essential
for the future.
These wall plates should be used in conjunction with a fly lead (Wall
plate to TV) using CT100/WF100 double screened cable.
Can be used in conjunction with a 4, 6 or 8 way set amp which will combine
the TV / FM signals in the loft, allow both signals to travel through
the one downlead and then split (Diplexed) behind the TV using the above
wall plate.
Especially useful if you have a large amount of cables to the rear of
the TV, the wall plate and fly lead will prevent the signals from other
leads entering the main TV cable (Interference).
General purpose signal
amplifiers for distributing and boosting the signal to 2 or more TV
sets. The amplifiers are normally fitted in the loft and require a 240v
power supply, the gain on each port is 8 db to 12db and is ideal for
running 2 or more TV sets from a slightly weaker aerial signal. If you
are looking for Sky Digital to be distributed at a later date similar
amps are available which incorporate an IR loop through.

Sizes available:
Aerial in 2 out
Aerial in 4 out (Plus FM)
Aerial in 6 out (Plus FM)
Aerial in 8 out (Plus FM)
Please note the 4 out amps and above also incorporate an FM port, an FM aerial can then be added, each room will then receive TV & FM signals.
Diplexing
(Combining 2 signals on one cable)
These are designed to allow the satellite cable to combine with the
existing Terrestrial TV cable. It avoids having an additional satellite
cable around the house and keeps the internal cabling very neat and
tidy.
Essential for new homes or houses where fitting an additional satellite cable is not practical or wanted.
The proposed satellite
cable is combined with the existing terrestrial TV lead by using an
external / internal diplexer (Outside or in the loft). The combined
signal then travels down to the existing wall plate which would need
to be replaced with one shown below, this will allow the signals to
then separate behind the main TV. All connections are then carried out
in the normal way as if another cable was being used. If an FM radio
signal is also required this can be joined to the incoming TV aerial
lead using a TV/FM combiner.

Standard Triplex plate
Satellite / TV & FM ports. The one existing cable can be used from the loft to the wall plate. Note the fully screened block behind the plate. Requires DIP2 Below or a loft box to combine the two signals. Can also be
supplied with additional port for return lead to loft. |

Wall Plate (Multi Service)Satellite / TV & FM ports plus telephone sockets and a return port to send the signals back to the loft for Sky distribution to other TV's. Two cables needed from the loft to the wall plate plus one telephone cable. Requires DIP2 Below or a loft box to combine the signals. NB: Some of the newer plates are being produced with one telephone socket only. Now also available
with 2 X Sky ports for Sky Plus |

To order: All you
will need is one TV Link and some extra Coax cable if required
This will allow you to view the Sky channels in another room and to
also change channels from either TV using your Sky remote
How it works The RF out 2 port on the back of the Sky Digibox sends out a small voltage which powers up the TV Link and allows remote signals to be sent back along the Coax cable to the Digibox. The Sky remote will then operate in the same way as if you were standing in front of the main TV.
Sky to several TV,s using Global D.A Box
Sky to 2, 4 or 7 extra TV's
To order : You will
need 1No 2 / 4 or 7 way D.A.Box, plus 1 to 7 TV Links
The Global D.A.Box has the unique feature of distributing and amplifying
the signals plus allowing the Sky remote control to work from any TV
in the house that has a TV Link connected. The TV Links simply plug
into the back of your TV or VCR and can be moved to any other TV of
your choice.
How it works The RF out 2 port on the back of the Sky Digibox sends out a small voltage which powers up the TV Links and allows remote signals to be sent back along the Coax cable to the Digibox. The Global D.A.Box will allow the small voltage to pass through the box to all TV points. The Sky remote will then operate in the same way as if you were standing in front of the main TV.
Sky to several TV,s using existing distribution box
To order: You will
need 1No TV Link and 1No Global Bypass Kit
This will allow the Sky channels to be distributed to 4 extra TV's,
Plus the Sky remote will work from the bedroom as well as the Main TV.
How it works The RF out 2 port on the back of the Sky Digibox sends out a small voltage which powers up the TV Link and allows remote signals to be sent back along the Coax cable to the Digibox, the Global Bypass kit allows the voltage to bypass your existing distribtuion box. The Sky remote will then operate in the same way as if you were standing in front of the main TV.
